What we can explore

The present often has a history.

You do not have to know which category your experience belongs in. These are some of the places we can begin.

  • Painful relationship patterns

Feeling tolerated rather than wanted. Over-explaining, carrying the emotional work, or being expected to keep the peace after someone else causes harm.

  • Family estrangement & changing contact

Living with distance, rejection, or a relationship that no longer feels workable. Sorting through grief, guilt, loyalty, and boundaries without assuming reconciliation is your goal.

  • Grief with no simple ending

Loss after a death, the absence of someone still living, or grief for the family, care, or life you hoped for. Space for the parts other people rush past.

  • Boundaries & self-trust

Knowing something hurts and still doubting your right to respond. Clarifying what you need, practicing how to say it, and considering what you can do when a boundary is ignored.

My approach brings together nearly 20 years in the classroom, doctoral research on human connection, and trauma-informed education. We connect what you’re experiencing with patterns you can recognize and choices you can use in your own life.

You set the priorities. We can examine your part in a relationship without making you responsible for someone else’s behavior.

In a session

We start where you are.

There is no script you have to follow.

01

Tell me what is on your mind.

We begin with what feels most present, whether it is a recent event or an old question that keeps resurfacing.

02

Look for the pattern.

We slow the story down and get curious about the thoughts, reactions, and rules that formed around it.

03

Take something useful with you.

That may be a clearer question, a different way to understand a response, or one practical thing to try.
